Fertilization / Weed Control
A well-fertilized lawn is more resistant to insects, fungus and stressors. A well-balanced program focuses not just on improving the visual appearance of the surface but also feeds the root system creating a fuller and more heat-tolerant lawn.
Regular lawn fertilization is one of the most critical components of any effective lawn treatment plan. Fertilization will keep your lawn strong through seasonal transitions and help develop a natural defense system against problem grass and weeds.
Crab Grass: Crabgrass is on the most prevalent grassy weeds found in Michigan. One plant can produce over 150,000 seeds per plant. We offer both Pre-Emergent and Post-Emergent treatments.
Weed Control: Using specialized products, we can apply treatment that stays on target and is highly resistant to washing away once dry. We also offer specialty weed controls and complete vegetation control.
Our annual Fertilization and Weed Control Plans
We will help you make your grass maintain its lush texture and rich green color, by making it healthier, and eliminating dandelions or clovers and preventing the appearance of crabgrass. A lawn that is properly maintained and robust will also help in the prevention of diseases and pest infestation.

When soil temperatures reach a temperature of 55 degrees crabgrass begins to germinate. An application of crabgrass pre-emergents can prevent this from happening, preventing the need for costly post-emergent sprays.
LATE Spring
Dandelion and Broadleaf Weed Control with Balanced Nutrition
Weed Control in the Spring not only controls weeds in the Spring but also greatly reduces weed spread all year long.
Early Summer
Balanced Fertilization with Tough Weed Control and Micro-Nutrition
Early Summer fertilization can be key to the prevention of many serious turf diseases including dollar spot and Red Thread while also making turf more tolerant of drought conditions,
Late Summer
Slow Release Fertilization with Late Summer Weed Control
Late Summer is a great time to recover from the harsher conditions we sometimes see in June and July Recovery can start as soon as the weather allows to get a good boost before the long Labor Day weekend
Fall
Root Growth Fertilization with Full Spectrum Weed Control
Turning toward the end of the season, we focus on fertilization and weed control techniques
that only Michigan Fall weather allows us to employ. During this application, we can employ the widest spectrum weed killers of the year. These will not only control weeds you have in the Fall but can help eliminate early Spring
weeds.
Winterizer
Granular Winterization
Helps strengthens the roots and helps the grass survive cold weather. A good winter lawn treatment keeps your turf strong and green through the fall and ready to perk up again once spring arrives.
Pest Control
Grub Control:
Lawn damaging grubs are a nuisance. Grubs feed on lawn roots causing damage, sections of turf turn brown and wilt. Additional damage can be caused by skunks and moles digging to find a food source. We provide both preventative as well as a curative option.
Flea & Tick
A granule or liquid application will be applied one or two times per year depending on severity of infestation.
Most Common Types of Ticks Found in MI: *American Dog Tick: Carrier of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and tularemia. *Black Legged Tick: Carrier of Lyme disease, granulocytic. anaplasmosis, and babesoisis.
*Lone Star Tick: Carrier of monocytic ehrlichiosis and tularemia. *Brown Dog Tick: Carrier of Rocky Mountain spotted fever, canine babesiosis and canine ehrlichiosis. *Woodchuck Tick: Carrier of Powassan encephalitis.
Tick Facts:
*Ticks will stay attached and feed on a host for several days.
*Ticks prefer shady/moist areas
Fleas
Many of us treat our pets for fleas and ticks but forget to treat our lawns. While treating your pets for fleas and ticks helps to protect them, these pests are still thriving in your lawn and landscape and have the capabilities to multiply quickly (up to 18 eggs per day from each individual insect).
Perimeter Pest
A preventive pest control barrier that keeps bugs where they belong…outside your home. The preventive pest control application deters ants, earwigs, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, and chiggers from entering your home. A liquid treatment will be applied four times per season.
Mosquito
Treatments are applied four times per season to the lawn and landscape areas during the warmer months. Liquid mist applications target adult mosquitos in their harborage area. This will not only limit the nuisance of mosquitoes, but also lower the risk of illness due to mosquito bites.
Mosquitos are more than just a nuisance. These Pests can spread dangerous diseases and sickness to your family and pets. Mosquitos are one of the most dangerous natural residents of Michigan. There are over 60 species of mosquitos in Michigan All Mosquitos need standing water to mature even the smallest puddle or crevice of long-standing water can become a haven for mosquitos. Mosquitos are known to spread heartworm infections, malaria, zika, west nile, and eastern equine encephalitis
Deer/Rabbit Repellent
Deer or other animals can be a beautiful sight in any natural landscape, but when they start damaging your property by eating your garden and landscape plants, they can quickly become a nuisance.
Fortunately, we offer Deer and Rabbit Repellent Services as a solution to this problem. Can be applied year-round. Harmless to plants and animals.
Aeration
Deeper Roots = Stronger Lawns
Aeration is one of the best things you can do to help your lawn, it allows your lawn to breathe by breaking up thatch, allowing water, oxygen, and nutrients to penetrate the soil. Often, your lawn can be smothered by thick, heavy thatch, losing its ability to absorb water & create new growth.
- Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
- Enhanced soil water uptake.
- Improved fertilizer uptake and use
- Reduced water runoff and puddling.
- Stronger turf grass roots
- Reduced soil compactions soilcompaction.
- Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.
- Improved resiliency
Winter Plant Protection
Because of the harsh cold winters in Michigan, certain evergreen trees and shrubs need extra protection. Unprotected plants can be severely damaged by losing moisture in their leaves. Anti-Dessicant applications will reduce moisture loss due to seasonal stress.
Burlap Installation can be installed to protect against deer feeding on Arborvitae during the winter months. As temperatures drop in the winter, food sources grow scarce, and hungry deer get desperate. Unfortunately, when their summer food sources disappear, they will likely start feeding on your ornamental trees and shrubs. During winters almost all available plants are on the menu. The threat increases with heavy snowfall and cold temperatures.
